Highway Resource Solutions (HRS) was established in 2011, following the death of a Road Worker in Lincolnshire, UK. This tragic incident, caused by an errant vehicle, was the catalyst for the development of an Incursion Warning System for road workers which is now recognised as best practice by industry and Highways England. HRS specialise in the delivery of digital services and assets for sectors in temporary infrastructure, including roads, rail, utilities, and event management.

About the role of Production Technician/Assembly Operative

This is a critical and exciting role within our business and responsibilities include:

  • Your role will be to assemble mechanical and electrical components and test them in line with company procedures
  • Basic to Intermediate Soldering (through hole and surface mount)
  • Maintain accurate records (IT skills essential)
  • Working within a friendly team environment
  • working to assembly guides/instructions
  • experienced in following wiring guides
  • Working at a fast pace to set standards
  • Completing quality checks on products
  • good attitude towards work and be keen to get stuck in.
  • Ability to fault find down to component level.

 

What good looks like for a Production Technician/Assembly Operative

You will be a ‘Hands-on’ type of individual who is self-motivated, results driven and have a strong desire for attention to detail.

  • Working to time targets (ensuring completion of tasks at your station while still ensuring quality)
  • Be self-motivated and driven by targets (These may be by number of items assembled, or work completed per hour)
  • Have excellent time keeping, attendance, and reliability.
  • Be a positive person who can take initiative where appropriate
  • Be able to listen carefully to instructions and carrying them out specifically and in the correct order
  • Have good communication skills and work well within a team
  • Have a high level of dexterity
  • Be able to ask for help and follow procedures safely
  • Be able to consistently learn and implement quality assurance
  • Able to maintain concentration and focus on highly repetitive tasks/workload
  • Have a strong eye for detail, ability to perform a task consistently, and notice any errors that the individual, the machine, or colleagues make
  • Be able to take a methodical approach and learn on the job
  • desirable BTEC level 3 / A Levels in an electrical/electronic engineering discipline, or experience in a similar role.

Full training provided but previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage.
