Why Herts Traffic Management

Herts TM has invested heavily in new traffic lights, traffic management equipment and specialist traffic management vehicles. The company now operates over 600 sets of temporary traffic signals. Further expansion in January 2009, with a new traffic management depot which opened at Braintree in Essex and the Redhill depot has relocated to larger dedicated premises at Gatwick in West Sussex, and we also have a depot in Watford. You may be required to work from any of these depots, depending on the work.

About the role of  Logistics Planner

Herts Traffic Management is a leading supplier of temporary traffic schemes and control systems to the utility, event and movie industries. Supplying a reactive emergency service to blue chip companies maintaining the Nation’s essential utility supplies.

Herts require a full-time Logistics Planner to help increase the efficiency of the existing team.

Based at our Watford Hub, this is a vital role within the company where the candidate should demonstrate a strong attention to detail and able to handle planned works alongside emergency utility requests quickly and in a professional manner. You should have a positive attitude and be willing to work in a vibrant and busy atmosphere. Candidates must be able to display a high degree of teamwork, logistical and organisational acumen coupled with clarity of thought and attention to detail.

Previous experience in the traffic management or general hire industry would be advantageous but is not essential. Knowledge of general commercial vehicle driver requirements would also be advantageous.

• Liaise with operatives, depots and clients in order to ensure efficient delivery of services.
• Allocate & communicate work to operatives via Mobile application.
• Monitor general traffic conditions and advise operatives as required.
• Liaise with the Fleet Manager to resolve vehicle issues and maintain fleet standards.
• Check Daily Vehicle Defect sheets are collected & completed correctly.
• Monitor driver & vehicle compliance.
• Ensuring all customer requests are acknowledged and acted upon in a prompt & professional manner.
• To liaise with client whenever necessary, to keep our client informed of our performance.
