About the role of Traffic Management Supervisor

You are responsible for the efficient running of the Depot  which includes implementing policies, with priority given to Health, & Safety issues. You will review and help develop the programme of works, liaising with other Supervisors, contacts managers and resource schedulers to ensure efficient use of the depot resources as well as ensuring that sufficient resources of the correct competencies are available to deliver the works. As Depot Supervisor you are also responsible for managing the installation of Sector Scheme 12A/B sites and to ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare of employees  

 

Responsibilities:

The Traffic Management Supervisor sits at the heart of everything we do and you will be responsible for:

  • To effectively implement the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and promote at all levels, setting standards in Health and Safety Behaviour. 
  • Assist the resource scheduler and Operations Manager with the programming and delivery of works and ensuring correct level of resources.
  • Attend meetings with the client to understand scheme requirements.
  • Help with the development of TM design.
  • Ensure the workforce understand what is required of them by way of developing works briefings giving adequate instruction to individuals under their control regarding their duties and responsibilities.
  • To follow approved accident and incident reporting process, complete paperwork and provide initial reports.
  • Carry out accident investigation, and take statements and collect evidence etc. ·
  • Support the commercial team by maintaining accurate records of operations e.g. Plant and Labour reports. 
  • To ensure workforce competency.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with sub-contractors and clients.
  • To ensure that any issues raised that cause concern are acted upon and resolved quickly. 
  • To ensure timely delivery of Toolbox Talks, Safety Alerts & Memos.
  • Undertake site inspections & audits to maintain & improve standards.

 

What good looks like for a Traffic Management Supervisor

  • Highly experienced in High-Speed Traffic management with a minimum of 12A/B TM foreman experience
  • Knowledge of Chapter 8 & TSRGD
  • Physically fit and able to pass a safety critical worker medical.
  • You will possess a full driving licence, with no more than 6 points.
  • Able to pass a drug and alcohol test.
  • Positive “can-do” attitude
  • Adaptability and Flexibility
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and experience of leading a team in a comparable role.
  • Planning and scheduling skills
  • Proficient in the use of a PC and the Microsoft Office suite of software
  • Excellent communicator and team worker with the confidence and ability to deliver presentations to the workforce.
