As this is a senior role, we are looking for a self-motivated and dynamic individual with a proven history of planning, coordinating, and controlling business development and marketing activities to meet company targets for client retention, growth and profitability.

The Role of a Business Development Manager  

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to promote Class One across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Responsibilities would include;  

  • To develop and deliver a sustainable Business Development & Marketing strategy which is reactive in our changeable market
  • Participate fully in the organisations strategic development and maintain awareness of prevailing external market conditions which may have a direct impact on the future trading condition of the business
  • Ensuring retention of current clients and securing potential new business through targeted market research
  • Working with our sister companies within the Chevron group to promote innovative technology to the Traffic Management Industry
  • Wherever possible, reintroduce inactive clients to Class One
  • Working closely with Contract Managers on new contract mobilisation ensuring bid commitments and client expectations are met
  • Working with other colleagues in the Contracts Department to achieve sales targets
  • Managing customer feedback & ensuring KPI’s are met
  • Develop & deliver client presentations for new business
  • Carry out customer surveys and manage customer complaints in a timely and appropriate manner in line with internal procedures
  • Submit PQQ, tenders and client questionnaire in line with internal procedures.

The ideal candidate will be hardworking, committed, flexible with proven history of delivering new sales & developing strong client relationships in a previous role. There is a requirement to conduct presentations and build client rapport via calls, Teams meetings and in person therefore the successful applicant will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. You promote our business as well as other businesses within the wider Chevron Group to implement new technological advantages within the Traffic Management industry.

  • Strong interpersonal & communication Skills
  • Successful track record in a competitive sales environment
  • Diver’s licence
  • Being achievement focused and sales driven.
  • Being client focus with a friendly, diplomatic and confident approach.

Desirable:

  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office including Sharepoint and Teams.
  • Previous experience within plant hire/construction industry
